Position Title: Director of Development Reports To: Executive Director & Deputy Director JOB SUMMARY Men Can Stop Rape seeks to mobilize men to create cultures free from violence, especially men’s violence against women. The Director of Development is responsible for contributing to the sustainability and growth of Men Can Stop Rape by overseeing the organization’s financial resources and ensuring that the organization’s external relationships with funders, corporations, donors, partner organizations, and other stakeholders are healthy, active, and positive. In collaboration with the Executive Director and the Deputy Director, the Director of Development will secure contributions through the following revenue streams: local and national foundations, city and federal government agencies, individual contributions, and corporate support. The Director of Development will be responsible for managing the following organizational systems and processes: Raiser’s Edge donor database, communicating with funders/donors, and creating and executing strategic Development plans. The Director of Development will supervise the Development Coordinator and will receive additional support from administrative staff. The Director of Development will be a clear and consistent communicator who excels at relationship building, has entrepreneurial instincts, absorbs new information quickly and deeply, and has a contagious sense of excellence and accountability. This person will exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills, strong professional judgment, flexibility, resourcefulness, and the ability to work as part of a team.
