ASK DC Officially Launching Tomorrow

ASK DC ScreenshotDC supporters, please join the DC Mayor's Office and Men Can Stop Rape tomorrow August 14 at 11:00 AM in the Wilson Building (1350 Pennsylvania Avenue NW) Room G-9 as we officially launch ASK DC, our newest resource for survivors/victims of sexual assault and dating/domestic violence.

ASK DC is a free, first-of-its-kind mobile application and website (www.askdc.org) that combines 33 support resources available to victims of sexual assault and dating/domestic violence in the D.C. area in one easily accessible place. Downloading the app equips D.C. residents and visitors with tools to help someone affected by sexual violence.

Healthy Masculinity Action Project Holds Training and Town Hall in North Dakota

A diverse group of people consisting of law enforcement, tribal men and women, sexual assault and domestic violence advocates, educators, military representatives, state political staffers, and Watford City community members gathered on July 31, 2013 in the heart of the Bakken Formation to discuss Healthy Masculinity and the Oil Patch.

The day before, on July 30, 2013, Men Can Stop Rape conducted a day-long Where Do You Stand? bystander intervention training as part of the launch of the North Dakota Where Do You Stand? campaign, consisting of messaging and images tailored to the state. Campaign materials were distributed at the training and the town hall. Get more information about both events here.

The Healthy Masculinity Action Project trained over 60 new Healthy Masculinity Ambassadors at three day Healthy Masculinity Training Institutes in Washington, DC and New York City. These ambassadors will take the principles of HMAP back to their communities to hold Healthy Masculinity Town Halls and other events. Check out more pictures from the trainings here.

Stay tuned for more information about what we've been up to this summer including our annual Summer MOST Clubs (with our youngest ever MOST Club member in the second grade); our activities promoting ASK DC to DC's interns, young professionals, and military service members; and much more!
