MOST and WISE Clubs Start Spring 2014 Strong

WISE ClubOur Men of Strength (MOST) and Women Inspiring Strength and Empowerment (WISE) Clubs had a great semester in 2013 and are starting 2014 strong. As part of a partnership with the DC Office of Victim Services, MOST and WISE Clubs have been focusing on serving chronically truant students. The unique model of our Clubs allow Mentors to find and address the underlying causes of students' tardiness and/or absenteeism.

In addition, MOST and WISE Clubs have shown films this semester aimed at increasing awareness of LGBTQ bullying and unhealthy masculinity along with stories of young people succeeding. Learn more about what our Clubs have been up to here.

HMAP Trains New Healthy Masculinity Leaders
“The HMTI experience was great. Not having done this work extensively, I feel that I was provided the knowledge and skills to successfully facilitate discussions. I am confident in my ability to move forward and engage others in those conversations.”

The Healthy Masculinity Action Project trained new Healthy Masculinity Abassadors at three day Healthy Masculinity Training Institutes in Washington, DC. Participants came from a variety of organizations including colleges, religious institutions, Greek life, domestic and sexual violence coalitions, and even an energy corporation These ambassadors will take the principles of HMAP back to their communities to hold Healthy Masculinity Town Halls and other events. Check out more pictures from the trainings here.
