MCSR Partners with AAUW on School Sexual Harassment Report

On Tuesday November 16, Kedrick Griffin, Senior Director of Programs, participated in a panel on the American Association of University Women's recent report, Crossing the Line: Sexual Harassment at School. The report has been all over the news for its finding that nearly half of students in grades 7-12 experienced sexual harassment at school last year. Also on the panel were Ileana Jiménez, educator at the Little Red School House and Elizabeth Irwin High School in New York and Rosalind Wisement, youth expert and author of Queen Bees and Wannabes, the book that inspired the film Mean Girls. High school students from The New School of Northern Virginia in Arlington, Virginia, and Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, D.C., joined the event to ask questions of the panelists. Check out AAUW's blog post about the event. We've also got video from the event with some comments from Kedrick at the 4:50 mark.
