THE STRENGTH CAMPAIGN
Inspiring Young Men to Make Healthy Choices
Identified by the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CALCASA) as “the most compelling and promising social marketing campaign to engage young men in the prevention of sexual violence,” Men Can Stop Rape's holistic STRENGTH CAMPAIGN has reached over 2 million youth and youth-serving professionals throughout the world.
Our campaign is grounded in the social ecological model, advocated by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a framework for primary prevention of gender-based violence.

This four-level social-ecological model considers the complex interplay between individual, relationship, community, and societal factors. This approach is more likely to sustain prevention efforts over time than any single intervention.

CALCASA's LICENSING OF THE "MY STRENGTH" CAMPAIGN
After researching numerous violence prevention programs across the country, the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CALCASA) selected our Strength Campaign as a model for their statewide social marketing campaign in 2005. In addition to customizing our Strength Mediaworks materials to fit their needs, they also launched six MOST Club pilot sites, their own MyStrength.org website, radio PSA's, billboards, and a “My Strength” street team.
