STRENGTH TRAININGS FOR PROFESSIONALS
Building Capacity to Engage Men
Men Can Stop Rape (MCSR) provides STRENGTH TRAININGS - ranging from a couple of hours up to three (3) days - for any and all organization types: state SA and DV coalitions, direct service agencies, youth-serving organizations, colleges and universities, government agencies and more.
Trainings are carefully tailored to the training audience and the agency’s goals to ensure that participants leave with the skills they need.
Among the many ways we can support your organization’s work include: One-Day Trainings
MCSR conducted a training in Amarillo, TX, for staff of Family Support Services and their community partners. Police officers, school staff and other allies worked with FSS staff at the training to learn about dominant and counterstories of masculinity, and how these could be used to mobilize boys and men in Amarillo.
Two-Day Trainings
To help their members build understanding and capacity to implement primary prevention programs, the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence brought MCSR to Wichita, KS, for a two-day training. The first day was open to all agency staff, to explore the theories behind engaging men of all ages, and its implementation on a macro level. Day two was just for community educators and prevention staff, drilling down with exercises and activities that are used to engage men directly and build healthier masculinity.
Three-Day Trainings: "From Theory To Practice"
MCSR's "From Theory To Practice" three-day training ensures that participants receive the most comprehensive training possible. Participants explore the theory behind engaging men and boys, experience and learn the exercises and approaches that have made MCSR’s approach the leader in creating cultures free from violence, especially men’s violence against women, and collaborate to determine the practical applications of these skills in their communities.
This fall, the North Carolina Coalition Against Sexual Assault, in partnership with the NC Dept. of Health and Human Services, is sponsoring a training open to staff from NC rape crisis centers, a cost-effective way to bring intensive training to as many people as possible.
