Organizations That Have Attended FTTP Men Can Stop Rape’s From Theory to Practice training attracts professionals and non-professionals from a variety of fields related to gender-based violence prevention.
The largest group of participants in the last four trainings have been from sexual assault/DV coalitions and direct-service agencies. The second-largest group comes from colleges and universities. We’ve also found recent success with participants from the military and from law enforcement groups. At our most recent training in January 2010, the the military comprised almost one-third of the participants. We have also seen participants from community organizations, various levels of government, and religious groups.
The training attracts participants from all over the country. Participants come from distant states like Oregon and Louisiana and from right here in Washington, DC. The training, then, is reaching diverse populations with wide variations of needs and skills. Not only does the training reach these populations, but every person seems to leave the training feeling educated and excited about engaging men to prevent gender-based violence in their field.
