Strength Mediaworks, Men Can Stop Rape’s groundbreaking media initiative, is widely recognized as the nation’s best-designed and most effective public service advertising sexual-assault-prevention outreach to young men.
Organized around the theme line, "My Strength is Not for Hurting," Strength Mediaworks initiative targets young men with a provocative and inspiring set of images and messages highlighting how men can be strong and empowered without overpowering others or resorting to violence in relationships.
Strength Mediaworks materials have been distributed across all 50 states and 20 foreign countries, totaling over 50,000 items sold. Publications about MCSR’s Strength materials have appeared in The Washington Post, Chicago Sun Times, O The Oprah Magazine, and the United Nation’s report “Facing the Future together: Report of the Secretary General’s Task Force on Women, Girls and HIV/AIDS in Southern Africa.”
Organizations and agencies that have recently licensed Strength Mediaworks materials for regional use include the Virginia and District of Columbia Departments of Health, the White Ribbon Campaign, Engender Health in South Africa, the Nevada Coalition Against Sexual Violence, and the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CALCASA).
