MOST CLUB ON "FOX 5" & IN THE "CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR"

In addition to their appearance in a February 8th's news clip on Fox Five News, MEN OF STRENGTH (MOST) CLUB received media acclaim once again as The Christian Science Monitor interviewed MOST Club veteran, Nate Cole, about his role in the launch of  the newly created National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline.

"A lot of young people ... they're just going with what their friends might say or what they might see on the media," says Nathaniel Cole, a sophomore at the University of Maryland and a member of the youth task force that helped launch the initiative. "The website explains what a healthy relationship is, so it's helping to combat these negative images," says Mr. Cole, who is also a member of Men Can Stop Rape, a nonprofit in Washington.

Last December, Nate and two other MOST Club members were asked to provide a fresh, young male perspective as members of the helpline's National Advisory Council. The Helpline, which provides 24-hour telephone and website assistance to teens experiencing dating abuse, is a collaboration between The National Domestic Violence Hotline and Liz Claiborne Inc.

Nate also was asked to speak at the Helpline's press conference on February 6th at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. Read more about MOST Club's role in the Helpline here.

Make sure you also watch FOX FIVE NEWS' online clip featuring MOST Club members from Washington DC's Hyde Leadership Public Charter School. The Club's National Director, Neil Irvin, and several members were interviewed on February 8th for a story on Teen Dating Violence Awareness Week.
