MCSR Seeking Development Manager
Men Can Stop Rape (MCSR) is seeking a full-time Development Manager. We've reached over 2 million youth and professionals with our award-winning youth program the Men of Strength Club, our college program Men Creating Change, our Strength Trainings for youth-serving professionals, and our “My Strength" public awareness campaign.
The Development Manager will promote the sustainability and growth of Men Can Stop Rape by building the organization’s financial resources through:
o Seeking and securing grants:
*Research potential foundation, corporate, and government funding sources.
*Write and submit letters of inquiry and grant proposals to local and national foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
*Craft specialized proposals for specific funders and specific issue areas.
o Cultivating individual donors and securing major gifts:
*Write direct mail solicitations
*Create and implement major gift cultivation strategy
*Keep current and potential donors regularly informed about organizational efforts and accomplishments.
*Develop and implement individual donor events.
o Communicating with funders
*Prepare Directors for funder meetings.
*Keep current and potential funders regularly informed about organizational efforts and accomplishments.
*Write progress reports for funders.
o Tracking grants and donations
*Maintain database to track individual donations.
*Maintain database and filing system of current information about foundation, corporate, and government funders and grants received.
o Planning:
*Work with Department Directors and Development Committee of the Board to create an organizational fundraising plan
*Monitor progress toward fundraising goals.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years professional experience; development experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in gender-related field preferred.
- Ability to prioritize projects, multi-task, and work collaboratively within a small-staff office.
- Must possess excellent communications, strategic thinking, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefit plan including vacation and sick pay, medical, dental and 403(b) retirement plan.
