Our Trainings

If you’re looking for a history of expertise on engaging men and boys through healthy masculinity to prevent gender-based violence, turn to MCSR. Drawing on our 25 years of mobilizing boys and men to end violence against women through healthy masculinity, our trainings aim to help communities produce sustainable, measurable outcomes at each level of the environmental change model, emphasizing primary prevention, social and emotional learning, and healthy masculinity.

Using a train-the-trainer model, our approach has strengthened the skills of more than 12,000 trainers, maximized program and product delivery in more than 300 organizations, and conducted workshops for more than 50,000 people in urban, rural, suburban and frontier communities. Agencies, schools, organizations and institutions that we have trained include: K-12 professionals, university faculty, staff and students, youth-serving organizations, law enforcement and the US armed forces, professional sports leagues, college athletics, LGBTQ-serving organizations, state and local coalitions, fatherhood groups, juvenile justice organizations, correctional facilities, social workers, counselors, service agencies, and government agencies.

“What I loved about this training is that it not only provided such fertile foundational knowledge, discussions and explorations around the roots of healthy masculinity, but also brought participants to specific goals and actions within our communities. So I left with much richer foundational knowledge and also with very concrete and specific goals going forward in ultimately engendering and supporting more healthy masculinity in my community.”

— Scott Harrison, HMTI Participant

Webinars

What is Healthy Masculinity?

Many of us have a solid understanding of what unhealthy masculinity is. Others may know some of the connections between masculinity and violence against women. The question that remains is how healthy masculinity can play a role in preventing violence against women, and other forms of violence. This free webinar will break down MCSR’s description of healthy masculinity and connect it with men and boys’ prevention of gender-based violence.

Healthy Masculinity & Storytelling

Healthy masculinity is a community changer. It’s a positive way to engage boys and men, and helps them see how being strong without being violent can benefit themselves and others. Storytelling offers a unique format for sharing and promoting the prosocial norms of healthy masculinity, whether you are brand new to healthy masculinity or an experienced professional. Join us for a closer look at how we can all positively use storytelling to promote healthy masculinity.
